Hoisted by their own petard
Last week, during her shiur, Esther Wein spoke about Divine nekama as being indicated not as revenge in the way we think of it but as the flipping over of evil intent back against the perpetrator.
I observed that in English we call this "hoisted by your own petard," and we do see it a number of times in TaNaCh, most notably in this week's Parshas, Yithro, and in the Purim story
