Book discussion question - The Learners by Chip Kidd

I read The Learners recently and really enjoyed it. It conflates advertising, the gap between form and content, and an inside look at the Milgram experiment. I recommended it to my husband who also liked it. Neither of us had read the earlier book that features the same protagonist. But we found that did not detract from understanding this book. I am wondering if any of you read it because we each had different impressions about the ending.
